Pork Devotion
Kay. It has been a while since I posted about good food. A few friends have commented that mcallie8.blogspot.com is a food blog, I can't exactly agree or disagree on that.
I do post a lot about food because I love a good eat, but apart from that I do write about a lot of other topics. Anyway, you guys probably know by now that I LOVE PORK. Pork makes a huge difference to how a dish tastes and also because I'm Chinese, my love for pork is probably in my genes.
Here are some pictures of yummy-finger-licking-burp-inducing-grub:
A few weeks back, we went to Dave's Pizza Pasta Vino in One Utama with Lin and Dennis for a porky treat. It was a lovely double date and instead of cracking our heads trying to choose which over the terribly tempting dishes we should order... we decided to share. Since there were four of us, we each had a chance to pick one item off the menu.
Here's Lin's pick:
Healthy and so incredibly yummy. Salad with roast pork skin. Delicious.
Next, was Vic's choice:
I forgot the name. Sigh. I have a tendency of forgetting the names of food that I've eaten, but going forward... I'll make notes on my iPhone. :D
Needless to say, the pasta had pork and it was totally to-die-for!
Dennis' pick:
I'm not sure whether Dennis actually picked this or Vic... but either way... it was good pizza. Again, pork does wonders.

Pork Knuckles!!! So so so so bad, but I can't resist. I mean.. who can? The skin is just so crispy and the lard... oooouuhhh (makes orgasmatic sounds).
The next pork-pit-stop is at Buonasera Italian Restaurant at SS2. This is truly a gem of a place and it even comes complete with an Italian chef! Chef Enzo Dente!
Vic and I were quite taken by the food. Chef Enzo even gives cooking classes and tours! To ITALY! RM13k for two weeks in Florence, Rome, Umbria and Tuscany! I'm DYING to go on a wine and food tour there. To visit the open markets, hunt for truffles and experience the farm life. Sigh, money does not grow on trees.
Back to the food:
Caesar Salad with PORK Bacon. I tell you... I LOVED this salad. I don't usually fancy Caesar salad, but I whacked most of the salad. This is by far the best salad I've ever eaten in my career of eating. LOL. Serious!
Calzone!
Here's how it is defined by Wikipedia:
A calzone is an Italian turnover made from pizza dough and stuffed with cheese, ham or salami, vegetables, or a variety of other stuffings. It often contains an egg, the yolk of which should be runny. It is typically served with marinara sauce on the side for dipping, or topped with garlic and parsley infused olive oil. The dough is folded over, sealed on one edge, salted, then fried.
I prefer normal pizza, but Vic wanted to try this. It was okay, I guess... didn't really eat much of it because I was focusing on the salad!
Enzo's Pork Ribs - the sauce and marinate... wow super tasty. But I'm still not over the rocking salad.
Did The 'Responsible' Thing
Filed my taxes. It was much easier than expected because as an unmarried person without much investments there isn't much for me to fill in. Haha. One reason not to get married!
Oh, the picture below is of my dinner. BBQ lamb and some taufu bakar at one of the restaurants off Old Klang Road. Wasn't that great though. I'm suddenly craving for some satey babi. Gotta stop thinking about food and go to sleep!

One of the most unusual 'compliments' I've ever received...
Met some nice English blokes yesterday and they said I looked like a WAG (Wives And Girlfriends) of those football players. LOL!
Well, WAGs have a somewhat negative connotation in my mind as most WAGs are portrayed as frivolous creatures with a thirst for money and fame.
But the guys insisted that it was a compliment... so I'll leave it as that. :S

Coral View Resort Sucks Big Time!!!
As the title goes, I don't recommend this place to anyone. It's overpriced. Old. And the front desk personnel is extremely rude and unhelpful. I can overlook the shabby rooms, if the staff were warm and hospitable, but because of one asshole, Coral View Resort gets a zero out of ten. This is the worst place I've ever stayed at. Needless to say I will not be returning here. For those of you heading to Perhentian Besar, don't stay here. It's expensive and offers a lousy experience.
Instead, stay at the many other resorts. This island is so beautiful, don't let a bad resort spoil it for you.

I'm Back, Bitches!
Yeah. Excuse the profanity, its just too good a line not to use.
This is a long overdue post. I've been meaning to start writing here again and I only intended to take a short break, but some how my lazy bones took over. :( I am very very lazy!
Anyway, I'll be off tomorrow morning to Bangkok with Lin, Ing and Sheau Wei. It's gonna be a girly trip full of shopping, massages, mani/pedi and everything fun. However, at this moment... I'm feeling kind of sick. Yesterday afternoon a monster of a headache decided to attack me and I was left feeling weak and extremely irritable. Sheesh. Today, flu-like symptomshave appeared. Bummmmmer.
Then on Wed I'm off to Perhentian! I love the beach. I love snorkeling. So exciting and fun. I feel like I'm addicted to beaches. I definitely am a beach holiday person. The highlands are fun, but I would opt for the beach any day! I wanna get more tanned as well. Elaine insisted that I wasn't tanned at all from Tioman.
Oh oh... An update that I MUST share is that... I FINALLY GOT THE iPHONE!!! :D I'm on the Maxis plan. There were alot of naysayers, but you know what? I've no regrets. I love the iPHONE and nothing else matters to me. My iPHONE has a nice pink hard shell case and a black and pink theme. I've been playing games, surfing, chatting and checking emails on my iPHONE every single day. I can't go to sleep one night without first playing the many games that I have. Addicted, sial!
All right, I gotta get off to work now. Will be back soon. Maybe I'll blog from a wifi spot in Khao San? Muahaha.
