Must Love Food

*****Before I begin with this food post, let me first warn you that it is going to be LOOOOOONG and going to take ages to load.

Ok. You have been warned. And another warning is that you are probably going to get REALLY hungry after seeing all the pictures. Please refrain from eating the person next to you for he/she could taste really bad. Raw human meat is not exactly a favourite amongst many.

If you have not already noticed, mcallie8.blogspot.com has gone through a revamp. I was bored of the previous standard blogger template and opted for something minimalistic and fresh. Also, I wanted more room in the post section to display photos big big! So, along with this new template... I have to create new pages to be linked to the pink strip under my header. This post entry is for the MustLoveFood tab.

Now, a lot of people have told me that I know how to eat. Yeah, everyone knows how to eat. Open mouth. Put food in. Chew. Swallow. But, I guess what well meaning friends mean is that I know how to eat good food and that I'm a foodie.

I never really considered myself a foodie until a few years back when I discovered that I have a hoard of food pictures and extra flab around my once flat now fat tummy. I'm the type of person who plans what to eat ahead of meals. I like to visualise my lunch/dinner and fantasise about it until I have it. For instance, I'm headed to Sunway Pyramid for the Time Taveler's Wife tonight. I will probably have Japanese - Sushi or Pasta Zanmai, Pasta de Gohan or... maybe Canton-i or I could surprise myself and eat something random.

There are people who don't care what they eat as long as it fills their stomach, but I am not such a person. If given a chance, I would like every meal that I have to be a good one and worth the calories. I'm sure there are many fellow foodies out there who empathise with me. For the love of food, y'all! For the love of food!

Moving on, here's a summary of the food porn that I snapped. I had so many pictures to choose from and was quite lost at which ones to pick. Here's a whole load of them that I have categorised for your pleasure.

First up, PORK!!!!!

This is the infamous Char Siew that the Singaporean boys lust after

My all-time favourite Pork Chop. Only at Yut Kee in Dang Wangi KL. This is a must try. Everyone that I've brought here falls in love with the pork chop.

Roasted Pork @ Siew Yok at the food court of Siam Paragon, Bangkok. Notice how their roasted pork is so much leaner than ours? Refer to the picture below. Grandma got this Siew Yok straight from the market.

Some terror pork burger from the streets of Sukhumvit, Bangkok. Another case of looks good, but tastes mediocre.

Above and below: Pork from Checkers at Damansara Heights.

Heavenly.

Ai Yo! Where did I have this little bugger? I don't remember where. Sorry, guys!

This was snapped at Mom's birthday dinner in October. German pork something something in the Restoran Kepala Ikan Segar (Fresh Fish Head Restaurant) in USJ 4.

I've said it once, and I will shout it again....

PORK IS A WAY OF LIFE!

Are you hungry yet?

Next up, random pictures of meat which I cannot ascertain if it is pork, beef, lamb, duck, chicken, mutton, rabbit, veal or ........ guinea pig!!!! Noooooo.....

Note: Milk, the Greedy Pig.

Ai Yo... I really don't know what is this! But it was fab. Found@Max! Kitchen & Wines.

Standard breakfast at The Residence in Bangok. The sausage and ham are either pork or chicken.

Tandoori Chicken in KL.

This is Yong Tau Foo @ Wa Kiow, Jalan Peel, KL. The reason why it is categorised as meat, is because I honestly do not know what is stuffed inside. Tastes like fish. Tastes like pork. Beats me. I don't care really because it is da bomb.

Chicken Kebab at a middle eastern restaurant. Below is Hummus, another favourite of mine. Made out of chickpeas, which I love, Hummus is really tasty!

Briyani. Is that lamb or beef? I don't know!

Why, HELLO PIZZA!!!! What are you doing here! You are not meat!

One of my more recent loves, Foie Gras. Call me inhumane, cruel, evil and unkind. Call me everything you can think of, but I will eat Foie Gras. It is like a orgasm in your mouth--if there is such a thing.

I'm not all about meat, meat, meat... I also like to feast on other things....such as:

Seafood!!!

This here is yabby. Yabbies? It tasted good.

Otak-Otak Egg Omelette from Joy Cafe in OUG.

Some very famous stuffed crab dish in Kemaman, Terengganu.

Another one of my indulgences - HAM TAN HAI! Salted egg crab! Oh my love!

Sashimi at Tosaya in Wisma Cosway

My first ever oyster that I ate and did not spit out. Mother's Day celebration 2009.

Oodles of Noodles

Phad Thai in Chinatown, Bangok. The eating gems you find when wandering around the streets of Bangkok. I love Bangkok, it's like a fucking wonderland of cheap clothes, food and massages!

Every since I was a little girl, I loved Hokkien Mee. Here's one of the best in KL from Weng Hing Coffee Shop in Imbi. Fishing for pork lard hidden in the dark noodles is absolutely trilling. And when you find that little bastard, quickly pop it in your mouth and crunch away... in fears that your mates might hijack it away.

Pasta de Gohan. Fusion Japanese food that Vic had initially disappoved, but is now slowly learning to tolerate. MEN!

Ngau Kee Beef Ball Noodles in Tong Shin, KL.

Vegetables and Bread?

I didn't always like Caesar Salad, until  I had the one at Buonasera in SS2. It became a love and addiction. I craved it all the time.

UFO? No... some deep fried potato chips.

I had this in Cameron Highlands at Summer Kaye Garden Restaurant in Cameron Highlands (which I am not sure whether it is still in operation as it looked close the last time I went). I thought it was Pumpkin Leaves, but on close inspection... I don't think it is. Mad delicious!

Dark Cherries. Sexy. Mysterious.

I eat a lot of bread. I love fresh bread. Bread can immediately taste better after you reheat it in the oven. It becomes crispier and more flavourful!

Dessert
Those on a diet, cry your heart out because I am going to show you some dessert now. You can't eat it because you are watching your sugar and calorie intake! Haha. Boohoo!

Fresh Strawberries and Ice Cream at Stawberry Moment Dessert Cafe in Cameron Highlands.

 Gazillion Cupcakes!!!!

Yogur Berry has a sweet spot in my heart, but my heart is torn whenever I'm in Singapore and Yami Yogurt is within reach.

 I ate gold once.

Butter cake is simply irresistable! My friend Don makes FANTASTIC butter cakes. Call him at 016- 293 8291.

 Pancakes@ Trader's Hotel

The Best Green Tea Ice Cream I've Ever Had at Ma Maison in Singapore. Must try if you are ever in the island.

Why Do I Love Food?

The answer is simple. I live to eat and I eat to live.

Does it make sense? Hahaha... I thought I would sound all profound and insightful leaving you in awe.
Anyway, good food makes life so much richer and enjoyable. Good food along with the company of great friends is life at its best. Cheers to that!

 Remember!
