The Chaos of Moving House

OMFG!!!!

I never knew that moving house would be such a pain in the arse. Okay, I knew that it would be tough... but I had no idea it would be THIS stressful, tiring and plain crazy.

Last Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday were spent moving from No.9 to No.32. Sure, five days seems like ample time to settle things... but IT ISN'T! I know I'm shouting too much, but this is to emphasise how difficult it has been. I literally had no time to shit. No joke.

Here's a rundown of what happened during the Big Move. Friday was spent packing up my room and driving Mom around for stuff. Saturday involved hardcore packing up to early Sunday morning. Sunday, the movers came. There was a really grumpy mover dude who made things unpleasant with his constant shouting and him berating his colleagues. We were promised seven movers, but instead... three turned up to do the job. Needless to say... they took longer than anticipated. So, since they were so short on people, we had to step in and carry stuff in our cars. I think I lifted more than my body weight of stuff throughout the move.

Monday and Tuesday were spent cleaning up the old house and the new house. The new house.. is not entirely ready for us. All the toilets have NO DOORS. Yes. No freaking doors. We improvised by nailing some long curtains over the one toilet that was working. We have three toilets, but only can be used. The water pressure is low, so no hot water and showers are by pail and bucket.

The marble in the living room is needs to be polished and I believe it should be at this very minute. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to having the living area usable. Right now, the sofa set, tv cabinet, etc are all crammed up in either the kitchen area (which does not have kitchen cabinets yet) and the upstairs hall.

Sigh. I'm so exhausted - mentally and physically.

Sorry to hear that. But really, anything could happen while moving house. I moved at least 14 times since I was born, so... am kinda numb.
