Sex and The City, Cashmere Mafia and Lipstick Jungle

All of the above are movies about women in America trying to find success, love and the meaning to life, while at the same time indulging in bad men, hard drinks and shoes.

I know I'm rather slow at watching Sex (and The City), but you see, I wasn't allowed to when I was younger and when I could, it didn't cross my mind. Some weeks ago when I was raving about Cashmere Mafia, I was told that Sex and The City would be much better because it was like THE show for all girls (sorta like how the book He's Just Not That Into You is THE book). So, I decided to grab a season one of Sex and see what was so great about it.

In Season One and Two, I watched how always broke and always smoking Carrie fell in love with Mr Big, saw Miranda have a thing with a 20-something guy, laughed when Samantha broke up with small penis James and wondered in amazement when Charlotte's addiction to The Rabbit was revealed.

On Carrie, why does she run around braless half of the time with her nipples sticking out of her shirts? LOL! And she is very skinny lor that Sarah Jessica Parker!

Anyway, Rosalynn said that a lot of the issues brought up in the series are very relevant and I must admit that they are. We will all have our versions of "Mr Big", they guy you can never say no to and the guy who totally screws around with our minds.

We all ponder about marriage, kids and finding the RIGHT one... and worry whether we would be the only one left to catch the wedding bouquet. In one episode, a bride whispered to Carrie, "Marry someone who loves you more than you love him." Could this possibly be the secret to a happy and safe marriage?

This show and the many like it does get me thinking. Sometimes, optimistically and well... other times I wallow in depression. However, I strongly feel that it is good to think about one's life as it shows that you are alive! Just don't over think it because insanity happens that way.

On another note... (Potential spoiler alert, but not for the Sex movie) I just caught the season finale of my all time favourite TV show and I am somewhat happy with how things stopped. Perhaps in Season 5, it could be happily ever after? *cross fingers*
